About Vector
Accelerating the veteran journey to clarity, confidence, and conviction for life.
Vision
To impact all veterans by introducing a new step in the transition process that cultivates a renewed sense of self-awareness, allowing for a life of intention that is in alignment with their values.
Mission
Vector Accelerator exists to help all veterans find clarity as they transition from military to civilian life, so that they navigate their next mission with confidence and conviction.
Our Story
Vector Accelerator is a product of The Honor Foundation, a unique transition institute that serves U.S. Special Operations Forces by providing a clear process transition from military to civilian lives so that their mission is always clear and continues to impact the world. The Honor Foundation’s goal has always been to act as a catalyst to overhaul the entire DOD transition assistance program, and after a decade of helping thousands of SOF veterans successfully transition, realized it was time to create a program that would effectively serve all veterans. Years of research, analysis, and practice showed that there were critical steps in the transition process that were being overlooked by the traditionally offered programs available to veterans. One of those critical gaps is a process that The Honor Foundation calls Phase One.
Phase One grew out of a partnership with the YouSchool. Founded in 2012, the YouSchool exists to guide people through a step-by-step process to grow in self-awareness and confidence about a fulfilling life. They work with teenagers, college students, transitioning veterans, athletes, and corporate executives. In 2014/15, the YouSchool partnered with THF to develop a series of self-reflective questions that would then become this segment of THF’s program.
Also in 2015, Team Rubicon integrated YouSchool's curriculum into its premier leadership program, the Clay Hunt Fellowship. More than 250 participants have been guided in interactive cohorts since then. Both programs require that participants dive deeply into their personal stories, motivations, goals, priorities, strengths, and weaknesses. While this process is challenging because of the vulnerability it requires, THF identified it as the primary process absent from most veteran transition assistance programs, and perhaps the most powerful to help participants gain the clarity and confidence they need to find their next mission.
And so, Vector Accelerator was born.
Vector is redefining the military-to-civilian experience by introducing an important first step in the transition process: intentional introspection. The virtual, on-demand program guides participants through modules designed to help them gain clarity on their identity, motivations, strengths, and priorities so that they can pursue their next mission in life with confidence and conviction. After completing successful alpha and beta testing, Vector Accelerator will launch a pilot program in January of 2024, inviting all active-duty or separated members of the military to participate.
